Pastures bare, producers selling cattle in Cimarron County, Oklahoma
5/24/2013 2:43:39 PM

CATEGORIES:
Agriculture
AFFECTED AREAS:
Cimarron County, OK

Start Date: 1/11/2011 - End Date: 5/13/2013
The last 3 years have been terrible and we have been in a drought for a least 10 years. The pastures are brown and bare. People are selling their cattle. Because of high grain prices, grassland has been broken out. New farming practices will not keep the dirt from blowing as already seen by rolling clouds of dirt as in the 30s. Old timers say this the worst they have ever seen. CoCoRaHS Report from Station #Keyes 10.3 NE on 5/13/2013
