The Agricultural Act of 2014 allows livestock producers who suffered losses dating back to October 2011 to apply for assistance. The livestock forage program can help those whose grazing land suffered from drought in 2012. A livestock indemnity program could assist producers who lost livestock due to adverse weather. Officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture said that as much as $2 billion to $3 billion may be paid for past disasters. Applications must be received by Jan. 31, 2015.
