Start Date: 4/21/2014 -
The Ashland Parks and Recreation Department has decided to not plant any new trees or shrubs this summer in view of the drought. Irrigation of city property will start later and be less frequent than usual this growing season. Water restrictions may be a possibility, depending on weather conditions and water demand during the summer. A city administrator also urged residents to delay planting new trees and shrubs until the fall. The Rogue River Basin's snowpack was only 36 percent of average at the start of April, according to the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Medford Mail Tribune (Ore.), April 21, 2014
