AFFECTED AREAS:
Humboldt County, CA

Start Date: 7/25/2014 -
Fifty-five adult salmon and an unusually high number of juvenile salmon were found dead along a 90-mile stretch of the Salmon River in Northern California’s Klamath Basin, according to an environmental scientist for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Low water flows and high temperatures are expected to kill more fish. Given the drought, there is little to no available water to improve conditions for the fish. A massive fish kill occurred in the same area in 2002. Klamath Falls Herald and News (Ore.), July 25, 2014
