CATEGORIES:

AFFECTED AREAS:
Murray County, OK

Start Date: 9/29/2014 -
Lake of the Arbuckles in Chickasaw National Recreation Area dipped to a record low of 864.51 feet above sea level, or 7.49 feet below normal pool on Sept. 25. Boaters were encouraged to slow down and be on the lookout for submerged objects that were closer to the water’s surface. Buffalo and Antelope springs went dry, reducing the flow of water in Travertine Creek. Many popular swimming areas in the park consequently had low water, and Little Niagara, Bear Falls and Panther Falls did not have enough water for swimming.
