Start Date: 10/12/2014 -
This year’s drought has produced grapes of the finest quality for winemaking, as reported in the Wall Street Journal. Less precipitation results in smaller grapes with concentrated flavor. Plenty of sunshine helps the grapes ripen ahead of schedule before the fall storms arrive. Too much rain can cause grapes to mold. A Pinot Noir specialist stated, “This year's vintage could be one for the ages." Des Moines Register (Iowa), Oct. 12, 2014
