A Butte County woman has had no running water since her well went dry a month and a half ago. She does not have the money to have the shallow well dug deeper, buy an above-ground tank and pump or connect to the local water system. She’s looking for a job, but at present cannot get a loan for getting an above-ground tank and pump, the least expensive option, because with no job, lenders doubt she will be able to repay the money.
