Twenty-one other water districts in California were ordered to stop allowing new service connections to their water systems because there was insufficient water to meet demand, due to drought. The State Water Resources Control Board issued the temporary service connection moratorium on Oct. 17. The Hidden Valley Lake Community Services District was one of the communities receiving such orders. The district must find an alternate water source before the moratorium will be lifted. In Mendocino County, Willits, Brooktrails and Pine Mountain also received the orders, but Willits has since had the moratorium lifted.
