A Lake County rancher sold some cattle to limit spending on cattle feed and intends to use the money to feed his remaining cattle. Drought reduced hay production, creating additional worries for the rancher. Oregon ranchers also have to compete with California ranchers for hay, corn, barley, alfalfa and clover.
