Washington cranberry growers need good rain to flood bogs for harvest

CATEGORIES:

AFFECTED AREAS:
Grays Harbor County, WA
Pacific County, WA

Start Date: 7/30/2015 -
The coast of southwestern Washington often receives plenty of rain during the summer, filling ponds and recharging groundwater for flooding cranberry bogs at harvest time. This year ponds are low, and farmers worry about having enough water to harvest the crop without good rain in the near future. Pendleton East Oregonian (Ore.), July 30, 2015
