Start Date: 2/8/2016 - End Date: 2/23/2016
After Travis County officials rescinded a burn ban that was to remain in effect through March 9 after rainfall eased the fire danger. Austin American-Statesman (Texas), Feb. 23, 2016 The Travis County fire marshal favored a burn ban for the unincorporated parts of the county, due to recent dry weather, and intended to pass the recommendation along to Travis County commissioners. In spite of the dry weather, the soil was still moist, and many of the branches and other fuels have dried out. The wildfire risk will remain high until things begin greening up in the spring.
