Somerset and Hunterdon counties remained in a drought warning after a wet winter, but drought conditions eased in other parts of New Jersey. Drought warning status was lifted in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties. The drought watch was canceled in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties. NJ.com (Newark, N.J.), April 12, 2017 A drought warning was issued for 14 of New Jersey’s 21 counties, allowing the Department of Environmental Protection to more closely manage reservoir systems. The 14 counties are Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.
