Another week of above normal to below normal temps. We are stuck in the below normal mode currently and will continue through this coming week. It's been very breezy to windy much of the reporting period. There was 1.0" of wet snow that fell on grassy surfaces on 3/10/17. Much of it melted quickly with warm ground temperatures. There is a potential for significant snow amounts Monday night into Tuesday. Soil temperatures rose quickly during the warm spell but have fallen slightly with the cold snap and the first 0.75" of topsoil is frozen. Soil moisture levels have remained steady. **Higher the cenitbars the drier the soil. **Current Soil Readings: 6 in. Depth: Soil Temp 36F...Soil Moisture: 14 Centibars 24 in. Depth: Soil Temp: 42F...Soil Moisture: 18 Centibars 36 in. Depth: Soil Temp: 43F...Soil Moisture 23 Centibars. Plants and trees that were budding have stopped completely.
