Alabama Power Company received a temporary variance to begin refilling Logan Martin Lake and to bring it to full pool by April 7. With drought affecting the northern and central parts of the state, Alabama Power wanted to be sure to refill the lake, which is used to provide minimum flows for downstream navigation and to protect endangered species below Jordan Dam.
