Drought threat to wheat crop drives wheat futures higher

Drought in the Northern Plains has sent spring wheat futures for September delivery up by about 52 percent in 2017 to $8.1975 per bushel on July 5. The amount of land planted to wheat was the lowest this year since records began in 1919, according to the USDA. Bloomberg.com (N.Y.), July 5, 2017
