Pheasant population down in South Dakota
10/20/2017 6:33:23 PM

CATEGORIES:

Tourism & Recreation
AFFECTED AREAS:
South Dakota

Start Date: 10/19/2017 -
The previous harsh winter and parched summer has cut down the pheasant population in parts of South Dakota to about one-third of the ten-year average. There is concern that poor pheasant counts will draw fewer nonresidents for the hunt, depriving South Dakota of millions in economic activity. Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune (Minn.), Oct. 19, 2017
