This area is still very dry. The creek is still down to a trickle, with most of the streambed exposed. All ponds are down by feet, showing bare exposed banks. A recent construction project showed the subsoil here to be bone dry about 6-8 inches below the surface. Prescribed burning at this site will have to wait until at least one more significant rain. All the big rains keep missing us!
