The public was encouraged to be especially careful with fire in the Coronado National Forest, said a spokeswoman for the park. The region has experienced unusually dry, warm weather and also has ample dry fuel at all elevations and insect damage, leaving plenty of injured or dead trees. A fire communication and education specialist with the National Park Service noted that Saguaro National Park land east and west of Tucson were also at higher wildfire risk.
