Fire restrictions began in the Santa Fe National Forest on April 13 as extremely dry conditions and low moisture levels in the forecast heightened the fire danger. The use of campfires, charcoal grills and coal and wood stoves were allowed only in developed campsites or picnic areas with fire rings or grills built by the U.S. Forest Service.
