Start Date: 8/7/2018 -
Crops, pastures and hay fields in North Texas were stressed from the drought, and stock ponds were receding. Corn and corn stalks were being harvested for forage. Hay production was about 30 percent of normal. Pastures remained green, but were not growing. Some ranchers were thinking about early weaning and culling some cows.
