Significant rain allowed numerous Virginia counties to lift burn bans, but the Virginia Department of Forestry encouraged the public to continue to be cautious with outdoor burns amid the fall fire season. The counties ending burn bans were Bland, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin, Giles, Montgomery, Pittsylvania and Wythe. Danville ended its burn ban also.
