Drought and heat kept canola and peas in eastern Montana and western North Dakota on the small side, with the yields expected to be significantly affected. Canola has not grown enough to cover the dirt between rows, but were flowering. Some small grains in northwestern North Dakota were poor with uneven emergence and growth.
