The Old Faithful geyser in Calistoga typically erupts every 15 to 30 minutes, but during drought is “a little less faithful.” It is one of three such geysers in the world, with the most famous one at Yellowstone and another one in New Zealand. A geyser is formed when there is volcanic activity beneath the groundwater.
