Drought and heat may have nearly halved corn and soybean yields in North Dakota, but the truth will not be known until harvest. The grain buyer for a local biorefinery is looking at the corn and recalling that excess moisture reduced corn supplies in 2020. Now drought in 2021 is again limiting yield, which may mean that corn from outside the area will need to be shipped in to make ethanol. The Jamestown Sun (N.D.), Aug 31, 2021
