The Carson and Santa Fe national forests in northern New Mexico closed completely to the public, meaning no access and no hiking or biking along the trails.
The Cibola National Forest in western New Mexico partially closed to the public, including anything within Mount Taylor, Mountainair, and Sandia Ranger Districts, including the Sandia Mountains.
The closures were to last until the end of the year, but will instead last through July 18.
