A plant nursery in Savannah has moved some plants out of direct sunlight and is watering plants twice daily to cope with the heat and drought. Horticulturalists at the University of Georgia’s State Botanical Gardens in Athens focus on planting native plants that will tolerate heat and dry conditions better than nonnative ones.
