The Iowa Department of Natural Resources warned people boating in western Iowa over the Memorial Day weekend to be advised that water levels are low as the region is in severe drought. Some of the affected waterways are Carter Lake, Blue Lake, DeSoto Bend, Snyder Bend and Browns Lake.
