Houston residents were ordered to restrict outdoor water use to certain hours twice a week to conserve water as drought and intense heat continued. There have been more reports of lower water pressure across Houston due to increased water use and more water leaks. Houston remained in Stage 1 of its drought plan, which took effect in June 2022. The city has six contractors working to repair water main breaks and aims to hire additional contractors.
