Peabody’s reservoirs were too low to use so both water treatment plants have been offline for about two weeks. The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority was providing some water for the town as it did during the summer.
Water was not flowing into Peabody’s reservoirs; they were only replenished with rain and water pumped in from the Ipswich River, which has been at record lows this year.
