Drought has hurt the winter wheat and has produced less grazing for cattle in western Kansas, leaving farmers wondering what to feed them. A large farm in Hodgeman County has about 30,000 head of cattle and is feeding them silage. This will be the first year that they do not have a 10,000 ton carry over of silage because it will all have been fed to the livestock.
