Start Date: 5/25/2023 -
Water demand exceeded the amount of water that could be pumped, which is more than one million gallons of water per day, according to the general manager of the Avoca Regional Water Plant. Water demand has been high, and customers were asked to conserve in March and reminded in April that conservation was not as high as needed. The system was under a boil water order and a mandatory nonessential water usage restriction. The regional water plant serves customers in Shelby, Audubon, Cass, Harrison, and northern Pottawattamie County. Radio Iowa (Des Moines), May 26, 2023
