The Southwest Florida Water Management District extended the once-a-week watering restrictions through December 31, 2024, despite the return to drought-free conditions in the Tampa Bay region. The watering restrictions cover Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. The Tampa Water Department, with the support of the Tampa City Council, recently made the once-per-week watering rule a permanent measure.
