Bonneville Power Administration, supplying power throughout the Northwest, projected a $280 million net loss this year due to drought and extreme weather.
BPA's projection was roughly $375 million below its target for revenue, according to a recent public statement.
Dry weather has also affected power generation, and Washington officials declared a drought emergency for the state.
