The Lower Colorado River Authority announced the return to Stage 1 from Stage 2 of its drought plan after recent rain raised lake levels. The combined storage of lakes Buchanan and Travis has increased to more than 1.11 million acre-feet, or about 56% of capacity after recent rainfall. This is a considerable jump from the storage on May 1, when the lakes held 846,000 acre-feet.
