Some Lehigh Acres residents have been without water for weeks after their wells went dry. The Sandstone Aquifer has dropped to record lows in some areas. Outdoor watering was permitted once weekly in Lee County to protect the aquifer. WFTX-TV FOX 4 (Cape Coral, Fla.), May 5, 2025 Wells in Lehigh Acres were running dry as drought persisted in the region.
