CATEGORIES:
Agriculture
Plants & Wildlife
AFFECTED AREAS:
Morrow County, OR

Start Date: 7/28/2025 -
The hard red winter wheat in the Heppner area was shriveled and slightly lighter than usual with a lower test weight than they’d like. Last year, a full truckload would have been about 62,000 pounds, but this year, it’s ranging from about 55,000 to 57,000 pounds. Drought has reduced the weight of the wheat by 2 to 3 pounds per bushel. Hermiston Herald (Ore.), July 28, 2025
