There were 236 dry wells in Maine as of September 22, according to the dry well dashboard with most of the dry wells in Oxford County. Wells were going dry in West Paris.
The water supply was short for South Berwick where the town gets its water from wells. The water district superintendent recommended that they reduce the amount of water being pumped by 20% to 30% because the ground was not recharging much.
