Sixty-three Yellowstone ecosystem grizzly bear deaths have occurred already in 2025, which was higher than last year’s pace, when the highest number of mortalities on record was documented. With moderate to severe drought in the region, bears were coming down into the valley in search of food, according to a retired outfitter from Dubois in western Wyoming.
