Dredging operations on the Mississippi River were expanding to keep the channel open for the many vessels that move on the river. Both the Mississippi and Ohio rivers have been very low from lack of rain and there is none in the forecast in coming weeks. Round the clock dredging will continue for the foreseeable future.
