Texas cattle producers were waiting for rain before planting fields with cool-season forages for winter grazing because the past couple of months have been unusually dry. In East Texas, many producers were delaying or may skip planting cool-season forages into dry soil because they have adequate hay stocks. In South Texas, most producers awaited rain before planting.
