The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks trout each fall in lakes and streams around the state but was adjusting its schedule due to drought and water conditions. In some circumstances, water was too low or too warm for the fish, so the stockings were delayed until conditions improved. A stretch of Westmoreland County’s Loyalhanna Creek and Keystone and Northmoreland lakes were scheduled to be stocked Oct. 7 but got the delivery on Oct. 22. Harbor Acres Lake in Butler County was to receive trout on Oct. 6 but finally got them on Oct. 21. Meadow Run and Dunlap Creek Lake in Fayette County were to be stocked on Oct. 8, but was scheduled to get them on Oct. 30. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Oct 24, 2025
