The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources asked the public to check fire danger before conducting outdoor burning activities, as the fall fire season was underway. Over fifty wildfires have occurred in the month of October, burning approximately twenty acres. Though small in size, nearly all of these fires were human-caused and preventable.
