The Mercersburg Water Authority System continued to ask its customers to mandatorily conserve water due to low water levels in its wells.
The water authority issued an urgent call for water conservation on Sept. 2 after a significant lack of rainfall over the previous month. The dry spell had a notable impact on the storage and processing capacity of the existing filtration plant at the Buck Run reservoir and wells.
